HOW DO I GET A WORK PERMIT?

By: LLF Staff

To qualify for a work permit in the United States, you must have a certain immigration status or an immigration application pending that allows you to work under that status or while you are waiting on immigration to make a final decision on your application.

Every work permit has a “Category” listed that will tell you what status or application that work card is based on.
Here are some common work card categories:

• C10 = Pending Cancellation of Removal application
• C11 = Humanitarian Parole Status

• C14 = Deferred Action Status (often based on approved SIJ petition or a pending U visa application)
