An expert immigration lawyer in Alabama, Jeremy Love has represented clients across the state since 2009. He has always been passionate about assisting those in need and has worked with many nonprofit organizations such as Alabama Coalition for Immigrant Justice (ACIJ), Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama (HICA), the Latin American Association, and the Volunteer Lawyers Program. After leading the immigration program at HICA for two years, Jeremy formed the Love Law Firm in 2012. He represents clients in a broad spectrum of immigration cases including family petitions, waivers, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), U Visas, DACA, Special Immigrant Juvenile, nonimmigrant visas, and naturalization.Jeremy received his law degree from Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI, a degree in Spanish from the University of Tennessee and is a member of both the Alabama and Georgia state bars. Kimberly is dedicated to practicing all aspects of immigration law, with her caseload focusing primarily on Humanitarian immigration relief, Family-based immigration, and removal proceedings. As a Second Generation American, her familial ties to El Salvador give her a unique understanding of the Hispanic culture and is the fuel to her passion in helping immigrants achieve their goals within the United States. She handles cases related to Family Petitions, Fiancée Visas, Asylum, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), U-Visas, Special Immigrant Juvenile, Deferred Action (DACA) and removal proceedings. By practicing law solely in the area of immigration, she has built her knowledge of the immigration legal framework over the last several years to competently know all the ins and outs of the U.S. immigration system.

Kimberly Gubert works both at our Birmingham and Huntsville locations. She grew up in Huntsville, Alabama and after receiving her Undergraduate Degree at the University of Alabama, she attended the Paul M. Hebert Law Center from Louisiana State University. In 2018, she graduated with both her Juris Doctor (J.D.) and a Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law (D.C.L.).  She works closely with Pro-Bono Organizations dedicated to helping the immigrant community, such as Huntsville Helping Hands and AshaKiran, LLC, and is committed to bettering the lives of the immigrant communities around her. She is licensed to practice law in Alabama and in Louisiana. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and is registered to practice before EOIR (Executive Office of Immigration Review).

Luke has been representing clients before immigration courts and USCIS since 2015. His primary focus areas are asylum, T Visas (a type of humanitarian immigration benefit for victims of human trafficking), and cancellation of removal for certain non-permanent residents. His other major focus areas include understanding and mitigating the immigration consequences of criminal allegations, appeals of denials of immigration benefits, and federal litigation regarding immigration benefits. Luke is passionate about his work because it allows him to use the law to help improve the lives of people who have faced great adversity while learning about the world through the eyes of his clients and country conditions experts. He seeks to understand what makes a case compelling on both an intellectual and an emotional level, in order to be maximally persuasive. He seeks to earn the trust of his clients by striving to provide the type of representation that he would want for a loved one.

Samantha Armstrong

Samantha has been practicing immigration law since 2020, focusing primarily on humanitarian forms of relief for victims of persecution and violent crimes, including removal defense, asylum, U visas, T visas, Special Immigrant Juvenile Petitions, and the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).  Samantha is an Alabama native but spent seven years in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts before returning to Alabama in 2022. Prior to joining the Love Law Firm, she worked as Supervising Attorney at Catholic Charities of Fall River in Fall River, MA, where she partnered with many community-based organizations and government entities to support the immigrant community. She also clerked for the Rhode Island Supreme Court after graduating from law school. Immigration law and processes are often complex, but Samantha enjoys helping clients achieve their individual immigration goals by ensuring they understand what is happening with their case and what options are available to them.

Outside of work, Samantha enjoys playing outside with her kids and attending community events and festivals with her family.

Emily is a Tuscaloosa native whose interest in empowering the immigrant community began early on; she has spent many of her summer breaks in Honduras and Ecuador with her father, Dr. Lovely M.D., providing free medical care to remote regions in those countries. Emily later graduated from the University of Alabama with a double major in Spanish and International Studies. While working towards her undergraduate degree, she taught English as a second language at Shelton State Community College and was a Spanish instructor at a local high school. She continued her formal education at the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law where she received her J.D.

Emily’s legal career began at the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office where she strived to secure justice for victims of crimes. She joined the The Love Law Firm in 2024 and works directly with clients to provide the best service possible. She is an ally to her clients and passionately advocates for their interests. She works to safeguard children in the immigrant community through the Special Immigrant Juvenile Status process, and actively pursues justice for immigrants and their families who have been victims of crimes in the United States through the U Visa program.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, attending community service-centered events, traveling, and attending live music events
